Bluegrass Artists at Hillbilly Days

Y’all be sure to come and enjoy one of the state’s largest festivals. Since 1977, Pike County has been celebrating Hillbilly Days. This nationally known annual event is a fundraiser to benefit the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Boxcar Pinion Memorial Bluegrass Festival is held in honor Boxcar / Thomas N. Pinion, born March 28, 1923 and died July, 1990 near the Tennessee/Georgia state line on Burnt Mill Road. He got the nickname Boxcar from his high school classmates while playing football.
